Arrived to Queenstown

I arrived to Queenstown. The bus ticket was 55 NZ$ from Aoraki Mount Cook.  Departure time at 10.00 a.m. and arrival at Queenstown at 01.40 p.m.

I didn’t book any hostel. I found a YHA in front of the lake. Price for a 6 beds dorm 32 NZ$ if you are not YHA member. 

 I  had a small look at his town. It looks pretty. There is not too  much to do except  touristy tours of the lake, shopping, drinking or eating. I didn’t come to party so it’s just a place to relax before my next  trekking.

 It’s great how  here in New Zealand were able to create a tourism industry from nothing. I mean…Mount Cook for example….they create a Village Residence in the middle of nowhere….over expensive where 1 liter of water costs 6 NZ$ 1 T shirt costs 130 NZ$ and tourists (mostly from Japan. There are hundreds tourists from Japan and China)….are happy to pay!!! :o))

Queenstown is nice…it looks like Lausanne and its lac Leman.

 I met some roommates and it’s so fun to see these young guys that try to save money and spend the less possible to sleep or even to eat…falling in the TOURIST TRAPS like….the famous…. BUNGY JUMPING !!!!...Yep…all excited to do it…oops…not  just excited…SUPER EXCITED!!! …. They have really no idea :o) How does it work? FIRST THING: GREAT MARKETING and FUNNY STAFF (this is the secret….they pick you up at the hostel  2 hours drive to get the X location ;o) then…adrenaline, adrenaline, adrenaline….talk, talk, talk and FINALLY…. 1 JUMP!!!!....yep… 1 !!!! Cost?...oops…the video of the 1 JUMP is included in the price of course ;o)…so…COST?... 350 NZ$ !!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW… all the money saved for sleeping and eating during weeks.….jumped with 1 Bungy!!  :o))

Anyway it’s a great way to feel adults in a safely way ! :o) but like that one there is the: Canyoning “Adventure” the Skydive , the Jet Boating etc etc etc…everyting studied to feel  hero who is far way to be a hero ;o)
